Sam's Summer Coaching Soccer in Orlando (Part 2)...

We set off to help out with one of the Orlando City foundation camps; a free football course put on by the club and other parties. The kids weren’t as familiar with soccer as those we saw at the camp the day before so it was rewarding to see them adapting and learning. I was introduced to a couple of other coaches - Asha and Becca, who let me take a session on my own with a group of around 15-20 children.

We set off for the Orlando City training ground where we were met by the children and their parents for the camp to start at 6pm. We had a mixture of drills for both the outfielders and goalkeepers along with a big match in the middle for the kids to show their skills. I was impressed with the standard of football, or soccer as I keep being reminded to say!

Scottish Professional Football League…

Walking off the plane at Glasgow airport I was wrapped in a big winter coat. Despite it being August, I expected Scotland to be grey clouds with cold and wet weather. But to my surprise the sun was out and it was very hot. My accommodation was a very traditional Victorian house bed and breakfast with only a five minute walk into the town centre, so the location was perfect.
