Our Academic Partner – Bucks New University
It is important that students appreciate and benefit from their dual citizenship at UCFB and as part of the Bucks New University community.
The online library resources of Bucks New University, for example, give access to a wide range of learning materials that supplement the UCFB library at the Burnley campus.
Bucks New University has its own reputation for pioneering higher education and sporting partnerships and launched one of the first BA (Hons) programmes related to the football industry. In particular, the University has raised awareness of its status and interests by a partnership with London Wasps, the Aviva Premiership professional rugby union club that shares a ground with another of the University’s partners, Wycombe Wanderers Football Club. Many students have enhanced their job prospects through partnerships created with bodies such as The FA and professional clubs such as Reading FC. As the football industry finds creative ways of working in partnership with other sports and with universities, the experiences of Bucks New University will make a practical difference to the career ambitions of UCFB students.
Bucks New University and UCFB will be developing mutual opportunities for visits, guest speakers and industry activities. The University has campuses in High Wycombe and Uxbridge.
“Buckinghamshire New University is delighted to be working in partnership with UCFB. The opportunity to study for an undergraduate degree in football and wider sports business within the heart of a professional football club and Wembley Stadium offers students a unique learning experience. Our vision is to strive to be a leading creative and professional influence and we feel that this partnership will benefit students and the wider football industry.
“Currently, there is nothing quite like this offered in UK higher education sport business programmes and students will benefit from access to a range of organisations and individuals operating at the highest levels of the football industry. We have been impressed with the innovative and dynamic approach shown by UCFB and their vision for running traditional academic programmes within a real life setting, which should serve to enhance graduates’ employment prospects within this exciting global industry.”
