Student Recruitment Conversion Officer

As part of our continued growth and expansion we are looking to appoint an experienced Student Recruitment Conversion Officer to work closely with colleagues across UCFB’s Student Recruitment and Marketing Directorate to ensure the effective co-ordination of online student recruitment and conversion campaigns, the effective delivery of key messages and a high quality of engagement with enquirers, applicants and related stakeholders.
The Student Recruitment Conversion Officer is expected to support the development and implementation of a comprehensive Conversion Plan for Enquirers and Applicants which will ensure complementarity of student recruitment events and conversion/follow-up activity. They will also develop and implement dynamic online recruitment activities and materials aimed at a range of external audiences and stakeholders in collaboration with the wider Student Recruitment & Marketing team. The post holder will be expected to deliver creative and practical solutions, be innovative and keep abreast of business intelligence.
The post holder is expected to work within the context of the responsibilities outlined below and priorities will be agreed with UCFB’s Conversion Manager. The duties and responsibilities of the post holder are inherently professional and wide ranging in nature.
Key Responsibilities
- Identifying the information needs of enquirers and applicants at key points in the recruitment cycle, and supporting the UCFB Conversion Manager in the development of a comprehensive conversion plan which ensures timely delivery of relevant and compelling messages via appropriate channel(s)as part of the broader Conversion Plan for Enquirers and Applicants;
- Working closely with the student recruitment team, as well as other key stakeholders across UCFB to devise a programme of online activities and champion the use of all channels available to online recruitment activities (email marketing, webinars, video conferencing etc.) to significantly improve conversion rates of enquirers and applicants and to ensure this programme is coordinated and aligned with offline activities;
- Identifying stakeholders relevant to the recruitment and conversion of students and support the development of targeted campaigns to engage these groups with the aim of increasing recruitment and conversion of enquirers and applicants to UCFB;
- Working with the Admissions Manager to monitor the effectiveness of admissions procedures in relation to the management of prospect and applicant enquiries and submission of supporting documents and advise on business process improvements in these areas;
- Developing and maintaining a bank of ‘Frequently Asked Questions’ relevant to the conversion of all applicants and enquirers to be used by colleagues in the Directorate and the wider UCFB community when undertaking conversion activity;
- Liaising with academic departments regarding central conversion activities to ensure relevant input and to avoid duplication and to provide training, advice and assistance in responding to enquiries and enquiry management;
- Working with the Admissions Manager to ensure accurate reporting of applicant groups for inclusion in email campaigns and to allow the targeting of conversion initiatives and to lead on processes for the effective capturing of enquirer/prospect details;
- Working with the wider Student Recruitment & Marketing team to ensure that UCFB webpages serve as an effective recruitment and conversion tool by making suggestions for, and developing engaging new content
- Closely monitoring the outcome from campaigns through monthly reports and an annual review of conversion activities and adapting campaigns as appropriate based on audience behavioural data;
- Performing such duties as required by the Conversion Manager and Head of Student Recruitment & Global Marketing that are commensurate with the role

Person Specification
- An undergraduate degree or equivalent, ideally in business and/or marketing related subjects
- Ideally a minimum of 2 years Student Recruitment experience within HE
- Confident, highly motivated and tenacious approach to work
- Sales focused with proven track record of meeting targets and delivering results
- Experience of working to tight deadlines
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- An understanding and knowledge of B2C marketing and promotion
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively on an independent basis as well as part of a team
- Well-developed IT skills, covering Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access and Outlook
- Experience of using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
- Flexible to work outside of normal office hours as required
