Senior Leader Apprenticeship with MBA
This apprenticeship programme will cover essential elements of organisational performance within a football and sporting environment, including strategic decision making, finance innovation and change, enterprise and risk. Along with covering interpersonal excellence, leading and developing people, developing collaborative relationships and engaging employees.
This apprenticeship is suited for professional strategic leaders in the private, public or third sector of all sizes, who lead, manage and direct organisations. Specific job roles may include: Senior Leader, Executive Director, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Executive Officer. Underpinning theory will be covered, however apprentices will be provided with the opportunity to apply this to their own workplace.
This will take the form of business projects throughout the study period to ensure theoretical study can be applied back to the apprentice’s own place of work, providing an opportunity for learning to become embedded and a swift and direct return on employers’ training investment. Apprentices will receive an MBA Master’s Degree, and will become Chartered Members/ Fellows of the Chartered Management Institute upon successful completion of the programme.

As this apprenticeship standard is in the final stages of approval, module detail will be confirmed once approval to begin delivery is awarded. However, example modules include leading strategy, innovation and change, financial modelling, leading change within organisation, building collaborative relationships and partnerships.
Mode of delivery+
UCFB can deliver this programme to apprentices at either of our state-of-the-art campuses in Wembley Stadium, London, and the Etihad Stadium, Manchester. Other regional delivery locations will be considered, depending on demand.
The most appropriate mode of delivery will be determined in close collaboration with apprentice employers with options to be considered including day-release or study blocks) built around periods where employers find it easier to release apprentices for ‘off the job training’.
All apprenticeship training will include some element of virtual learning, which reduces the need for direct teaching and excessive travel. We recommend learning time to be 2 – 2.5 years depending on previous experience. However, this can be adapted to meet employer requirements.
