Professionals from the like of coaching, finance and media will be speaking to prospective students about their careers and giving advice on how to succeed in the football and sports industry.

Sissel is an award-winning marketeer with ten years’ experience in FMCG and sports marketing. Sissel spent the last five years working for The Football Association, where she most recently was responsible for the Three Lions’ World Cup 2018 campaign. She now runs her own sports marketing consultancy, Nala Sports Marketing.

Ed Coan, Sports Marketing & PR Consultant at Coanco Ltd 

Ed has worked in the football sector for more than 30 years. In that time, he has held a myriad of roles, from press officer to club chief executive and everything in between. He is currently interim Head of Marketing at The FA – the fourth time he has fulfilled this role whilst a permanent appointment is made. Ed is one of FIFA’s marketing instructors and has run strategy, marketing and communications-based courses throughout the world.

Simon Jones, Deputy to the CFO at The Football Association

After working for some huge organisations such as Ernst & Young, Viacom International Media Networks and the BBC in Director and VP roles, Simon moved to The FA where he applies his experience in commercial finance in a sports environment. Simon is TBC for Wednesday 27th February.

Paul Morrissey, Head of Media and Communications at Queens Park Rangers

A media, communications and PR professional, Paul has worked in the football industry for more than 16 years, spending 13 of those years working in the Premier League and Football League with Crystal Palace, Millwall and now QPR. In that time he has built up an extensive network of contacts across all areas of the media.

Mohit is a solicitor and Head of Sport and Media at Mackrell Turner Garrett, advising and representing clients within the sports sector by providing specialist advice on a wide range of commercial, corporate and intellectual property matters. His clients include clubs, commercial sponsors, sports agents, and individual sporting professionals. His specialist legal services include advising on all sport-related commercial and corporate matters, including sponsorship and endorsement agreements; branding, image rights and intellectual property matters; advising on commercial partnership agreements, kit supply contracts and sponsorship agreements; and supporting sports agents and advising on player, club and agent agreements.

Ricardo G. Lugo – Researcher, Practitioner and Consultant AMTP (UK/Norway)

Ricardo Lugo is a psychologist with experience as an applied practitioner, university lecturer and researcher. He currently collaborates with Norwegian Defense Cyber Academy as well as professional and amateur clubs and professional athletes. He is also a consultant and partner with the consultancy agency A Mind to Perform (AMTP), whose clients include FA Premiership Football and Cricket clubs, as well as elite athletes on all levels. Lugo’s expertise in predictors of performance under pressure, in high-stake situations and in mental preparation in addition to experimental psychology contribute as evidence-based scientific techniques to the development of research designs. He has published over 20 peer reviewed articles within performance, health and education.

Dave Storr, Head of Safety and Security at Ashton Gate, Bristol City FC and Bristol Bears RFC

Dave has 13 years of experience in stadium operations management and security management. His experience has spanned stadiums across the English Football League, the London 2012 Olympic Park sporting venues, and the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Saudi Arabia. He also worked on the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and is now responsible for all aspects of spectator safety and security at Ashton Gate Stadium in Bristol as well as consulting for various athletics championships, para athletics, football and rugby events, and concerts.

Kait Ludwig – Club Marketing and Business Operations Manager for The Rugby Football League

Kait Ludwig is a Sports Management graduate with two degrees (Bachelor of Sports Marketing Management & Bachelor of Sports PR & Major Event Management). Graduating in 2011, Kait has spent the past six years specialising in delivering multifaceted marketing campaigns for sporting organisations and managing the operations for major sporting events. A results-oriented marketing professional, Kait’s wide-ranging experience developing and executing measurable marketing campaigns have led to opportunities working for the Chicago Bulls (NBA, USA), the ACT Brumbies (ARU, Australia), the Canberra Raiders (NRL, Australia) and Betfred Super League (Rugby Football league, UK). Successful in driving revenue, growing and improving fan engagement and game-day experience, Kait currently works to drive best practices and innovation across all 12 Betfred Super League clubs, with a primary focus on all aspects of business operations, including ticket sales and service, sponsorship, marketing and digital. Kait supports the business efforts of all Betfred Super League clubs, by developing innovative content and marketing strategies and analysis to help drive club business performance.
