Working in the Premier League is a dream for many, but for UCFB graduate David Moat it was a dream come true.

Straight out of his BA (Hons) Football Business & Marketing degree programme, David found himself working in the commercial, marketing and corporate sales department at Vicarage Road. Already by working across various departments his mixed role has allowed him to experience the many different aspects that go into running a Premier League club like Watford. David joined Amy O’Connor as the second UCFB graduate to work at the club.

But it was also his work experience at the club during his time as a student that enabled him to make an impression to then gain full time employment upon graduation. His two years as a Business Development Executive stood him in good stead, as did a month in the social media team at Manchester City.

David said: “My programme gave me a great general outlook on what it’s like to work within a marketing department at a football club, and the real life examples allowed me to hit the ground running in this role.”

He added: “My favourite aspect of working at a Premier League club like Watford is that throughout my childhood all I would do is watch football on TV, and it was the only industry that I was ever passionate about working in. Now I’m here, it’s amazing and everything that I thought it would be.”
