Celebrations as the UCFB Class of 2018 graduate in style

The UCFB Class of 2018 celebrated their graduation in style with a memorable ceremony at both UCFB campuses.

Dressed in their robes, the new graduates from UCFB Wembley and UCFB Etihad Campus collected their degree certificates in front of their classmates, families and teaching staff at Wembley and Etihad stadiums respectively.

This year’s graduation ceremonies marked the only the second set of cohort to graduate from each campus, with students enjoying their celebratory photographs in each stadium’s iconic bowls. Over 90% of UCFB graduates are in full time employment, with almost two-thirds of those working in the football and sports industries.

Thomas Freismuth, a BA (Hons) International Football Business graduate from UCFB Wembley, said: “Graduation was a fantastic day to round off my three years at UCFB. I felt very proud to celebrate this special day with my family that came all the way from Austria – including my 80-year-old grandfather! It has been a great experience coming to a new country, learning a new language and getting to know fantastic people from around the world. I’m very grateful for the support and help from the UCFB staff and students in the last three years.”

Leah Grant, who graduated from the BA (Hons) Football Business & Finance programme at UCFB Etihad Campus, added: “It was great to see my classmates again after the summer and be able to celebrate our successes together. I’ve really enjoyed my three years at UCFB; meeting new people, experiencing new events and learning about the football industry, and I now can’t wait to see where my future takes me.”

UCFB Principal Paul Cassell added his congratulations to this year’s graduates. He said: “Every graduation ceremony is a memorable and exciting occasion for graduates and their families, and this year’s event in London and Manchester were no different. It’s always a privilege to be able to share these moments with our graduates. I wish them all every success in their future careers and congratulate them once again on successfully completing their time at UCFB.”
