Thanks to UCFB’s unique partnership with The National League students are given the chance to gain vital work experience with clubs across the three leagues in their various departments. One of those students is Grace Scott, a BA (Hons) Football Business & Media student at UCFB Wembley, who has been working as the Digital Media Editor at Maidenhead United. Here, Grace tells us about her time at the club so far…

During pre-season I gained the role as Digital Media Editor at Maidenhead United. Due to the lack of action at the time, I worked remotely from my home in Rotherham producing graphics and other digital media which were used on their social media platforms.

Once I moved to UCFB Wembley to begin my studies I began to travel to the York Road stadium. On a typical matchday, I will prepare digital material and control the media accounts in the run-up to kick-off, and then throughout the game I provide online commentary and graphics for social media.

Post-match is my busiest period, where I plan and conduct interviews with the management staff and players. These are then featured in The National League highlights programme on BT Sport. Recently, I have also designed match day programmes and video content.

The opportunities I am given through this role are extremely valuable both academically and practically. I travel with the team to away fixtures giving me hands-on experience and industry appropriate by dealing with tight deadlines, showing flexibility and communication skills.
