It has been quite a year for UCFB graduate Alexander Brown. After being part of The Football Association media team that gave fans unprecedented access to the England team at this summer’s memorable World Cup in Russia, he was recently named as ‘one to watch’ at the prestigious Football Black List awards. The awards celebrate African and Caribbean achievement in the British game away from the pitch and those working hard behind the scenes.

We caught up with Alexander after the awards for a quick chat to hear more about an unforgettable 2018…

How did you feel when you found out you were to be listed as ‘one to watch’?

I’m honoured to be featured on a list amongst so many talented and passionate people. I felt confused but pleasantly surprised just because I didn’t know the content I was creating impacted so many people.

How was the event and did it inspire you to achieve even more in your career?

The evening was a blessing for me to share a room with such prestigious names. The Football Black List is an inspiring initiative which I hope continues to grow, reward and influence the next generation of African and Caribbean leaders in British football.

I feel like I haven’t even started, there’s still plenty more to do.

What’s been the highlight of your career so far?

The highlight of my career so far is going to the 2018 World Cup in Russia and representing my country with The FA and England team as the team Video Producer.

I had a heavy involvement in the video strategy and all the content that seems to have changed the perception on this new England team.
