Meet the employer event at UCFB Wembley huge success
Postgraduate students were given the perfect opportunity to build contacts for their future careers thanks to a meet the employer event at UCFB Wembley.
A number of companies gave presentations to students inside Wembley Stadium, allowing the job seekers to see the opportunities available to them following graduation.
As well as being an opportunity for students to network, the day also gave a chance to employers to find out more about the unique learning experience at UCFB and how its students are prepared for the working world of the football, sport and events industries.
Organisations at the event included iSportConnect, the world’s largest private network of sport business executives; Dugout, a multimedia group who specialise in behind the scenes content at some of the world’s biggest football clubs, and From Pitch to Board Room, a training and events company that uses principles from football management to help businesses gain better results.
Also in attendance on the day was Asif Majid of YU Spaces, Karl Sear of Vi-Ability, Louis Howell of Exponential Marketing and Ian George of George Wicks.
Commenting on the day, Dugout’s Claire Norman said: “We enjoyed meeting so many highly qualified students, and we look forward to working with them and UCFB in the future.”
iSportConnect’s head of operations Tony Huegdon was equally impressed with the day and the UCFB students he met. He said: “The event was time well spent for me personally and for iSportconnect, and it was great to speak with UCFB students who relished the opportunity to ‘meet the employers’.”
Stuart Blyth, chief executive of From Pitch to Board Room, added: “It was great to meet so many well informed and enthusiastic students. The future of sport and business is in very capable hands.”
UCFB’s Complementary Curriculum & Employability Manager Danny Stroud, who helped organise the event, commented: “Alongside education, here at UCFB we recognise the need for our students to engage with the industry first hand. On this occasion, the event allowed our students to do just that, swapping business cards and sharing stories with the sport industry elite.
“My sincere thanks go to all of the companies and personnel that attended.”
