UCFB Wembley recently welcomed a work experience student into its Student Services team to see how the institution looks after its student body.

Owen, a year eight pupil at Hitchen Boys’ School, Hertfordshire, shadowed Nick Radley, head of student services, to get the inside track on UCFB, its world-class facilities which include Wembley Stadium, as well as meet with lecturers and other student facing staff.

Owen said “I wanted to learn more about higher education and I’m really interested in sport so UCFB was the perfect place. I met with lecturers who told me many interesting facts about sport and what the best ways were to choosing and studying a degree.”

He added: “Then I worked with the Student Services, Library and Information Service and Careers teams learning about what they do each day in supporting students. For one project, I helped with planning Freshers’ Week for all the new students joining UCFB in September – it’s going to be a great week and I wish I could be there!”

Nick added: “It is always great to see young people getting excited about higher education, especially as UCFB is so well placed to combine academic study with their passion for the sports industry. Owen was really keen to learn throughout the day and it was a pleasure to offer him this opportunity with us.”
