Women’s 1st team, Northern 3A league

The UCFB Women’s 1st team won their BUCS league with a game to spare, and are currently undefeated. A 2-1 win over University of Liverpool 2nd meant that the team went into their game away at University of Chester 1st knowing a draw would be enough to claim the title. A dramatic 1-1 draw clinched the league.

Men’s 1st team, Northern 3A league

Following a 5-1 win at home to title rivals Bangor University 1st, UCFB now hold their destiny in their own hands with two games of the season to play. Two home wins against MMU 1st (13th March) and University of Manchester 2nd (20th March) will be enough to claim the title, so students and staff are encouraged to make their way to the Regional Arena at 2pm for both games to cheer on the lads.

Men’s 2nd team, Northern 5C league

The 2nd team are also in charge of their own destiny, and know that victory in their final two games will clinch the league title. On Wednesday 13th March, they travel to MMU 5th, currently below UCFB in third place, then finish their season a week later on 20th March at table toppers University of Bolton 1st.

Futsal

Men’s 1st team, Northern 4A league

There’s also a chance of league success in futsal for the men’s team following two huge results. A 3-0 win over Keele University 1st and a hard fought 4-3 win against University of Chester means that if UCFB beat University of Liverpool 2nd on Saturday 16th March by three goals the title is theirs.
