UCFB is delighted to announce a new partnership with Macclesfield Town that will see students help run two new academies for the club.

Students will have the opportunity to experience the demands of working in a professional football academy by working alongside departments including the coaching and media teams.

The academies, which are being run in Macclesfield and Manchester, will help the Silkmen increase their reach in the search for new young talent, as well as provide UCFB students with the chance to bolster their CV and gain vital work experience before they graduate.

The League Two side joins a long and illustrious list of institutions UCFB is proud to call partners, including The Football Association, The Rugby Football League and Kick It Out.

Marc Halliday, Employability & Enrichment Manager at UCFB, said: “I’d like to thank Macclesfield Town for giving UCFB students this chance. This partnership gives our students even more opportunities to get out into the working environment of the football industry. The chance to coach tomorrow’s talent and create engaging media content for a professional football club is one students shouldn’t miss, so I urge them to get involved.”

Paul McGuire, Youth Development Manager at Macclesfield Town, added: “This partnership will not only enable our youth teams to gain further education and knowledge from trained students, but also allow UCFB students to gain real work experience. This is an exciting time for the club with the academy expansions, and we look forward to seeing how this partnership progresses.”
