London is one of the leading cities in the world, with something to do day and night, seven days a week. Here, we’ve compiled a list of some of the most eagerly anticipated events coming up in the next few weeks…

Summer of Sound on The Roof

When: until Saturday 29 September

Where: John Lewis, Oxford Street

The Gardening Society on John Lewis’s Oxford Street store’s rooftop has been transformed into a live music venue this month for a celebration of music, food and drink at one of London’s largest roof gardens. The venue is hosting garden gigs, with immersive studio spaces, DJ sets and fried chicken from Butchies, until this weekend.

Costa Del Tottenham

When: until Sunday 30 September

Where: The Cause, Tottenham Hale

London’s first nightclub with an outdoor pool has been launched in Tottenham this summer and includes 15-foot palm trees and London’s first ever Bring Your Own BBQ. The venue has been throwing pool parties, outdoor DJ sets, live gigs and cocktail masterclasses, with drinks being provided by The Five Points Brewing Company.

HarvestFest at Skylight

When: Thursday 27 September – Saturday 27 October

Where: Tobacco Dock, Wapping

Skylight, the rooftop playground at Tobacco Dock in Wapping, is launching its first autumnal-themed event this month. Across three floors HarvestFest will include Haybale Skittles and Pumpkin Draughts, live entertainment, warming street food and a cocktail menu filled with harvest ingredients including apples, pears and warming autumnal spices. Groups of friends will also be able to share beer and cider buckets.

 London Restaurant Festival

When: Monday 1 October – Wednesday 31 October

Where: over 60 events across multiple locations and great value menus in over 400 restaurants.

The London Restaurant Festival, now in its tenth year, celebrates the capital’s world renowned culinary diversity with a line-up of mini menus, food events, tasting evenings and more, involving hundreds of London’s best venues. The programme includes more than 60 events such as restaurant-hopping tours, chef-hosted events, eat art, a schedule of Japanese film and food pairing screenings, and a special tour and dinner at the Saatchi Gallery.

London Film Festival

When: Wednesday 10 October – Sunday 21 October

Where: multiple venues including Leicester Square, Soho and Tottenham Court Road

The BFI London Film Festival is the UK’s biggest celebration of international cinema and this year’s programme will see a mix of the best movies from the world’s other major festivals, including Cannes. The festival will be launched with Andy Serkis’s feature directorial debut Breathe, starring Clare Foy and Andrew Garfield, with the programme also including Jacques Audiard’s Venice Silver Lion Winner The Sisters Brothers, Boots Riley’s satirical hit Sorry to Bother You, and S. Craig Zahler’s Dragged Across Concrete starring Mel Gibson and Vince Vaughn. Maggie Gyllenhaal will join the Screen Talks roster alongside Keira Knightley, Alfonso Cuarón and Lee Chang-dong.

 NFL London Games

When: Sunday 14, Sunday 21 and Sunday 28 October

Where: Wembley Stadium

The NFL, which has been hosting regular-season games in London since 2007, returns to the capital in October with three NFL matches taking place at Wembley Stadium. Oakland Raiders take on the Seattle Seahawks in the first of the three games on Sunday 14 October, with the Tennessee Titans facing the Los Angeles Chargers a week later. The Jacksonville Jaguars then play the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday 28 October.

Six Day London

When: Tuesday 23 October – Sunday 28 October

Where: Lee Valley VeloPark, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park

The world’s best professional cyclists, including Mark Cavendish and Katie Archibald, will compete against a backdrop of great music and entertainment for Six Day London at Lee Valley VeloPark next month. The electric atmosphere of the velodrome will come alive once again with the world’s best riders, top entertainment and special guests over six days at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
