UCFB’s Chairman and Chief Executive who led the creation of UCFB inside Turf Moor stadium, Brendan’s background also includes steering football clubs on both sides of the Atlantic to new heights.

First joining Burnley FC’s Board of Directors in 2006, Brendan became its major investor and Operational Director in 2007, playing a significant role in the club’s first promotion to the Premier League in 2009 and two subsequent promotions since.

One of the founding owners of MLS side Orlando City SC, Brendan has helped to shape its recent success which includes a playing squad that can boast Brazilian superstar, Kaka.

Brendan has several decades of experience as a leader and founder of multiple highly successful property and investment companies, particularly in the north-west of England.

A member of the board of Burnley FC since 2010, John was its Co-Chairman from 2012 to 2015, overseeing a period of significant growth and success including promotion to the Premier League for the 2014-15 season.

As a Director of UCFB, John has played a key role in the institution’s growth to Wembley Stadium and Etihad Stadium since its inception at Burnley’s Turf Moor stadium.

John is a global leader within trading markets, including having co-founded Freight Investor Services Ltd UK (FIS) in 2002. Since its foundation he has seen sustained growth in every year of operation, as well as the company’s expansion from its London base to the United States, China, India, Singapore and Greece.

A popular figure as a Burnley player at Turf Moor as well as his home town club Bolton Wanderers, Paul enjoyed a glittering 13 year professional career as a striker.

In 1996, Paul returned to Bolton Wanderers as Chief Executive and after two years at the Reebok he was invited by The FA to become Commercial Director of the new £500m Wembley National Stadium.

Later taking up the position as Chief Executive at the £64m Ricoh Arena in Coventry, Paul then joined the Board of Coventry City Football Club as Managing Director before being appointed Chief Executive of Burnley FC in 2007. Having overseen the successful promotion of Burnley to the Premier League in 2009, Paul is a Director of UCFB at Turf Moor and plays an instrumental role in its ongoing success.

Paul was awarded the MBE for Services to Football in 2007 in the New Year’s Honours List.

A highly successful businessman who has been involved in dozens of companies, Bill is a passionate philanthropist with a particular interest in providing opportunities for young people across the UK.

Overwhelmed by the positive impact of the Bolton Lads and Girls Club when he became Chairman in 2008, Bill set up OnSide Youth Zones, a charity providing safe, inspiring, state-of-the-art facilities for young people in their leisure time. Over 20,000 people already enjoy his centres, with an aim to have 100 built across the UK.

Awarded the CBE in 2013, Bill received a Beacon Award for Philanthropy and was made High Sherriff for Cheshire in 2015.

An internationally-recognised figure in both the educational and legal fields, Carl is also a passionate supporter and Director of his hometown FA Women’s Super League football club Doncaster Rovers Belles.

Holding lecturing roles at a number of universities across the UK, Carl was instrumental in the development of BPP University Law School and the grant of degree awarding powers to BPP.

A Companion of Honour of the Chartered Management Institute, Carl was formerly a member of the General Chiropractic Council after being appointed by the then Secretary of State for Education.

A qualified barrister, Carl was included as one of the UK’s Hot 100 Lawyers by The Lawyer magazine in 2005, and was recently shortlisted by the Education Investor magazine for the prestigious award of ‘most valuable contribution to education by an individual’.
