Casey expands sporting future thanks to work placement role at the Manchester FA
UCFB student Casey Evans recently completed a successful two-week work placement within the social media department of the Manchester FA.
The Manchester FA is responsible for governing and developing grass roots football across the whole of Greater Manchester.
When asked what his main duties were whilst working for the Manchester FA, Casey said: “I helped with their social media profile, including helping with their recent bid to get verified on Twitter, which was successful. I also researched and wrote articles for their webpage and interacted with people in the Manchester community to tell their stories.”
As a BA (Hons) International Football Business student, Casey’s work experience within the governing body’s social media department gave him an insight into different aspects of the sport industry that aren’t necessarily directly linked to his degree.
However, Casey was able to relate some of his course modules to his work placement. He said: “As an International Football Business student, the semester I did in marketing helped towards how I orientated social media posts to the public.”
Casey’s time helping out across the social media platforms could prove to be a valuable one as he looks to fulfil his career aspirations.
He added: “My first year has only just gone, but I’m hoping to forge a career in the football industry where I can play a part in helping develop the sport I’ve grown up loving – be it raising its profile through social media and journalism or in another field.”
