Earn while you learn with numerous paid work opportunities around UCFB campuses
It’s a well-known fact that students are a frugal bunch and will often be found in the bargain aisles when doing their weekly shop. Savings can only go so far, as can student loans.
However, here at UCFB, there is an abundance of paid work opportunities in the local area for students to earn while they learn, with many in the football, sport and events industries that will look great on a CV.
UCFB Wembley students have had this unique opportunity in a variety of roles at Wembley Stadium, The SSE Arena and the London Designer Outlet (LDO) adjacent to UCFB Wembley.
Roles have included match day and non-match day event staff, IT and marketing staff for The Football Association (The FA); tour guides at Wembley Stadium; match day and non-match day hospitality and logistics staff for Delaware North within Wembley Stadium; retail work in The FA shop; event staff at the SSE Arena and retail and catering work at some of the shops and restaurants within the LDO.
There are similar opportunities for students at our UCFB Etihad Campus in Manchester. Like Wembley, Etihad Stadium is one of the most active and used stadia in the UK, with almost weekly football matches and a series of live concerts during the summer.
Manchester is a thriving student city with countless options for paid work. Bars and restaurants are in abundance through the city, especially in the Northern Quarter, and the likes of the Arndale Centre and Trafford Centre offer a number of retail work opportunities.
The annual Freshers’ Fair, which will take place during Freshers’ Week, is the ideal opportunity for you to meet employers and sign up for such opportunities, as well as get your hands on a few freebies and find out more about what’s going on in the local area.
Names already signed up to the Fair, which will take place at the SSE Arena in Wembley, and the National Squash Centre at the Etihad Campus, include: Domino’s Pizza; Barclays bank; Subway; Movember; The Works; Jack Wills; Camp America and Cancer Research UK.
