Scholarships & Bursaries for UK/EU Students
UCFB Wembley Means Tested Bursary
Students classified as Home status with a residual household income of up to £50,000 may apply for a UCFB Wembley means tested bursary. Each bursary will be valued up to £3000 and a limited number will be available.
The Bursaries can be taken in one of the following formats:
- Tuition fee reduction by up to £3,000;
- Accommodation contribution up to £3,000;
- Travel card from home address to campus for 1 year, contribution up to £3,000.
If successful, students must confirm their chosen package of support before the start of term.
There may be an opportunity to extend your support package into years two and three of a student’s study, subject to meeting the declared criteria.
UCFB Burnley Means Tested Bursary
Students classified as Home status with a residual household income of up to £50,000 may apply for a UCFB Burnley means tested bursary. Each bursary will be valued up to £3000 and a limited number will be available.
The Bursaries can be taken in one of the following formats:
- Tuition fee reduction by up to £3,000;
- Accommodation contribution up to £3,000;
- Travel card from home address to campus for 1 year, contribution up to £3,000.
If successful, students must confirm their chosen package of support before the start of term.

Professor Brian Barwick Scholarship
This scholarship is open to an individual who can demonstrate that they have strived through adversity to achieve a goal, and that studying at UCFB will assist them in reaching it.
Value: £3,000.
Professor Philip Wilson Scholarship
This scholarship is open to a mature student (over 21 years of age) who has taken a break from education, and has now decided to return. The student must demonstrate that a UCFB degree will further their capabilities or forge a new career.
Value: £3,000.
Alastair Campbell Scholarship
This scholarship is open to an aspiring writer, broadcaster or journalist who can demonstrate that their choice of UCFB degree will benefit them in their career ambitions.
Value: £3,000.
Neil Doncaster Scholarship
This scholarship is open to a Scottish applicant with strong experience of playing or supporting football in Scotland. E.g. playing for local, semi-pro or professional teams or having work experience for local clubs.
Value: £3,000.
Martin Prothero Scholarship
This scholarship is open to an applicant applying for BA (Hons) Football Business & Marketing who can demonstrate a strong commitment to furthering a professional career in sports marketing.
Value: £3,000.
She Kicks Scholarship
This scholarship is open to two outstanding female applicants, based on their academic profile and extra-curricular activities.
Value: £3,000.
Women’s Super League Scholarship
This scholarship is open to:
- An existing Women’s Super League player
- A Woman’s Super League player who has retired, or plans to do so in the next 3 years.
Value: £3,000.
There may be an opportunity to extend your support package into years two and three of a student’s study, subject to meeting the declared criteria.
British Olympic Association Scholarship
This scholarship is open to:
- Athletes who are aged 18-21 & currently competing as part of Team GB
- Athletes who are retired or retiring in the next 3 years.
Value: £3,000 plus support for travel expenses to Olympic related activities (competitors only, at the discretion of UCFB).
There may be an opportunity to extend your support package into years two and three of a student’s study, subject to meeting the declared criteria.
Club Wembley Scholarship
This scholarship is open to any son or daughter of a Club Wembley member, or a member themselves that has a successful application to study at UCFB Wembley.
Value: £3,000.
Elite Athlete Scholarship
This scholarship is open to any applicant who has competed at senior national level in any sport.
Value: £3,000.
There may be an opportunity to extend your support package into years two and three of a student’s study, subject to meeting the declared criteria.
Reach Society Scholarship
This scholarship is open to a male and female student that meets the ethnic criteria and selection process of the Reach Society.
Value: £9,000.

International High Achiever Scholarship
This scholarship is open to academically gifted International students with a strong extracurricular profile.
Value: £4,000.
There may be an opportunity to extend your support package into years two and three of a student’s study, subject to meeting the declared criteria.
International Special Award Scholarship
This scholarship is open to International students who have demonstrated special talents through academic or extracurricular success.
Value: £2,000.

Application Process
In order to be eligible a student must:
- Have already applied to UCFB and received an offer from UCFB;
- Confirm UCFB as their first choice;
- Download and complete the undergraduate scholarship application form or the means tested bursary application form, and return it to scholarships@ucfb.com;
- Applications are reviewed and a decision is made.
Please note that no payments will be made prior to the student enrolling on their course.

Scholarship Extension Criteria
In some cases, students will be permitted to receive a scholarship or bursary in year 2 or 3 of their degree programme.
To be eligible for an extension, students should be on course to receive a 1st class degree, have an overall attendance of 90% and have volunteered as a student ambassador or mentor for at least 20 hours per academic year.
