The Spectacular Annual Soccer 7s Tournament at UCFB Burnley

As the football season drew to a close, applicants and current students at both UCFB campuses joined staff from both UCFB and Burnley Football Club on the hallowed pitch at the historic Turf Moor in this year’s momentous annual Soccer 7s tournament.

A superb platform for 2015/16 applicants to gain a true insight into life at UCFB, prospective and current students were able to realise their dreams by playing on the immaculate pitch that hosted memorable Premier League fixtures this season.

Former England & Everton goalkeeper and UCFB Ambassador, Rachel Brown-Finnis, has created a podcast to discuss her media role with the BBC and other broadcasters during the upcoming Women’s World Cup.

The recently retired Everton star also offered her predictions, including those of her former England teammates for the major tournament in Canada. She also discussed the developments in British women’s football and wider sports over the past decade, in particular since the influential London 2012 Olympics.

UCFB students of both campuses recently had the privilege of receiving a guest speaker session from BBC sports presenter and authority on all things sport, Gabby Logan.

The four-time Sports Presenter of the Year gave an exclusive, up-close and personal session at the UCFB Wembley campus, streamed live simultaneously to students in UCFB Burnley. UCFB Wembley and Burnley students and staff recently displayed their commitment to charity by taking a brave leap of faith in bungee jumps across the UK, in the process raising an impressive £3,435 for Breast Cancer Care.

UCFB Wembley’s Men’s First Team footballers have been crowned league champions in their inaugural season, with a perfect record of six wins in six games.
