UCFB student Gianluca Rossi joined the Scottish Professional Football League for a month-long placement at the start of summer under the Head of Sales & Marketing, Stuart MacPhee.

He secured this extended placement having already shown considerable promise in a two week stint with the SPFL earlier in the year.

During his time at the SPFL, Gianluca was in regular contact with Neil Doncaster (Chief Executive of the Scottish Professional Football League and key member of the UCFB Advisory Board) assisting with various ongoing projects.

His day to day responsibilities included helping to create prospectuses for potential sponsors, sitting in on meetings with potential partners, researching related organisations and putting together PowerPoint presentations for meetings.

Gianluca also worked with Scott Steedman (Commercial Director of the SPFL), running the official SPFL social media page and offering ideas on how the league can improve interaction with Scottish football fans. He also put together various highlight reels and video interviews for the official SPFL Youtube account.

“I really enjoyed my time working with the SPFL; it was definitely a worthwhile experience.
“I am hoping to return to do more placement work at the SPFL in my third year.”
