What do I want out of my trip?

Day 1:

I attended UCFB’s Women in Football Business (WiFB) Forum held recently. The event was designed to raise awareness about working in the business side of the industry, as well as acknowledge the successful business women currently working within what could be described as a male dominated industry – the world of football and sports.

The line-up of the forum consisted of BBC Sports Broadcaster Jacqui Oatley, The FA’s Head of the National Game, Kelly Simmons MBE, the CEO of Sunderland AFC, Margaret Byrne...

I was fortunate to be gifted with tickets for the UEFA Champions League Final at Wembley Stadium. Well, where to start…the game was absolutely amazing!

I don’t think I could thank Mr Wilson and everyone at UCFB enough for the opportunity I had; it made for the best 21st birthday weekend I could have dreamed of.

The atmosphere was absolutely breath-taking, not to mention the top notch match we got to see and the amazing seats. I am still pinching myself now....

I was volunteering for BBC for Football Focus Live, from the national football museum, helping with the audience and seeing how the show works. I was even lucky enough to see the show live!  Learning how the show works with fan interaction was interesting, as I feel in any business interaction with people and fans is important; it keeps them interested and engaged.Event organising is a pathway I would like to pursue and meeting with Shelley helped me understand it  more....

To mark the end of the semester, we embarked on a trip to one of the UK’s top footballing destinations – St Georges Park, the FA’s brand new footballing headquarters, and home to all things England.
