Student Entertainment Officer
Salary: > £18,000-£25,000 dependent on experience.

Location: UCFB Wembley or UCFB Burnley
As part of our continued success and expansion we are looking to appoint a hands on, all round fun loving Student Entertainment Officer for each UCFB campus, responsible for the development and management of a diverse programme of social activities and events which will enhance and provide an exciting and rewarding experience for all UCFB students outside of their core degree programme.
Scheduled activities and events will run throughout the academic year both internally and externally including but not exclusive to club nights, gigs, outdoor pursuits, day trips, competitions, charity events, student union clubs and societies, activities, cabarets etc. in line with student interest and demand. The role demands strong project management skills and the post holder will not only plan all elements around an activity, event, society or club including budgets, staff, risk assessment, space and quality assurance but be fully participative at all times and responsible for student engagement.
The Student Entertainment Officer is required to manage relationships with many different stakeholders to fully engage with our target participants. In particular, the Student Entertainment Officer is tasked with improving the student experience through developing key cross-programme student activities and events throughout the year to ensure a fully inclusive social programme for all.
Person Specification
- As UCFB’s Student Entertainment Officer you’ll need to have a great personality, awesome communication skills, stamina and flexibility. You will be fun, dynamic, creative and highly motivated.
- Educated to degree level.
- Recent graduate with proven working experience of organising and engaging in student related activities and events in a Student Union related role.
- Proven ability to manage social activities and events independently
- Sensitivity in handling high profile guests and visitors
- Ability to provide direction and oversee the work of others
- Ability to exercise initiative
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent planning and organisational skills
- Experience of compiling and managing budgets
- Excellent attention to detail
- Experience in selecting, liaising and monitoring external suppliers
- Ability to use own initiative in order to deal with problems which may hinder the delivery of an effective student experience
- A professional and customer focused approach; tact and diplomacy to deal with people in all circumstances in a professional manner
- Ability to manage crisis situations in a professional manner
- A flexible approach to working, sufficient to be able to work a 5/7 day per week arrangement, work evenings and weekends fully engaging with and participating in UCFB student socials, activities and events at all times.
- Willingness to travel within and outside of the UK for specific events.
